Classic & Exotic Care
The cars most shops won't touch, handled by people who actually want to.
Some cars are not just transportation. An air-cooled Beetle, a British roadster, a Lamborghini or Maserati: these need hands that understand what they are and what they should stay. Too many shops either turn them away or learn on your dime. We do neither.
For 30 years the Boatwright family has worked on European machinery, and that experience carries straight into the classic and exotic side of the bench. We treat these cars the way their owners do: with patience, the right approach, and respect for originality. The nearest comparable European specialist is more than 100 miles away, which means careful work on a rare car no longer has to mean a long tow.
Air-cooled VW service
Beetles, Buses, and other air-cooled VWs: valve adjustments, carburetor and timing work, points and dwell, oil-bath and cooling tin details that modern shops simply don't see anymore.
British roadster work
Austin-Healey, MG, and friends. Carburetor tuning, ignition, cooling, electrical gremlins, and the patient sorting these cars reward rather than the parts-cannon approach that ruins them.
Modern exotic maintenance
Lamborghini, Maserati, and Porsche scheduled service and repair: fluids, brakes, belts and chains, and diagnostics handled with the care a six-figure car deserves.
Preservation-minded repair
We favor keeping a car correct and original where it makes sense, and we tell you plainly when a part should be preserved, rebuilt, or replaced.
Honest condition assessment
Buying, selling, or just wondering what you have. We will look the car over and give you a straight read on its mechanical condition and what it needs.
Pre-storage and recommissioning
Getting a seasonal or long-stored car ready to sit, or carefully waking one back up so it runs right instead of running rough.
Signs it's time to come in
- A classic that sat all winter and now runs rough or won't start
- Carburetors that need balancing, tuning, or a careful rebuild
- An exotic due for scheduled service you don't trust to a general shop
- Oil leaks, overheating, or electrical faults on an older car
- You were quoted a long tow because no local shop will touch it
Classic and exotic European cars punish guesswork. An air-cooled VW timed by feel, a roadster's carburetors balanced by ear, a Porsche serviced to the right spec: these are not jobs you hand to whoever is open. General shops often lack both the knowledge and the patience these cars demand, and a wrong move on something rare or original is expensive and sometimes permanent. A specialist who has spent decades inside European machinery brings the judgment to know what to fix, what to leave alone, and how to keep the car true to itself.
How it works
Call and tell us about the car
Phone (318) 445-6007. There are no online forms here. We would rather hear what you have, what it's doing, and what you want from it.
We assess before we touch
We look the car over, talk through originality and goals, and lay out a plan with honest options rather than assuming you want everything new.
Careful work, plain updates
We do the work with the patience these cars need and keep you informed. No surprises, no parts you didn't agree to.
Common questions
Do you really work on air-cooled VWs and old British cars?
Yes. These are exactly the cars we mean by classic care. Air-cooled Beetles and Buses, Austin-Healeys, MGs, and similar roadsters are all welcome. They need a different skill set than modern cars, and we have it.
Will you keep my car original?
Where it makes sense, yes. We are preservation-minded and prefer to keep a car correct rather than modernize it without reason. We will always tell you plainly when a part is better preserved, rebuilt, or replaced, and let you decide.
My exotic is due for service but I don't trust the dealer drive. Can you help?
Yes. We service Porsche, Maserati, Lamborghini, and other exotics to spec, with the care a car like that deserves and without the long round trip. Call us and we'll talk through what your car needs.
Talk to a real European specialist.
Describe what your car is doing and we'll tell you what we'd look at first. No phone trees.
