Engine Repair for European Cars

Timing, leaks, cooling, misfires, and turbo work done right by people who know these specific engines.

Family-owned since 1995Independent European specialistAlexandria, LA

European engines are precise, and they fail in specific, predictable ways. A BMW that's due for a timing chain guide, a Mercedes seeping oil from the filter housing, an Audi stumbling under load: these are pattern problems, and the fix depends on knowing the engine before you ever pull a cover. That's the difference between a real repair and an expensive guess.

We've worked on BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Jaguar, and the rest for 30 years here in Alexandria. We diagnose the actual cause, quote it straight, and use the right parts and procedures for your car. Dealer-grade capability, with local pricing and a family that answers the phone.

What's included

Timing chains and belts

Worn chain guides and tensioners (a known weak point on many BMW and VW/Audi engines), stretched chains, and interval timing-belt service before a failure bends valves. We replace the supporting parts, not just the chain.

Oil and coolant leaks

Valve cover gaskets, the Mercedes oil filter housing gasket, oil cooler seals, water pumps, and thermostat housings. We trace the leak to its source instead of cleaning it up and hoping.

Cooling system repair

Plastic coolant components on European engines get brittle and crack with age. We handle water pumps, thermostats, expansion tanks, hoses, and electric fans before an overheat turns into head-gasket damage.

Gaskets and seals

Head gaskets, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, crankshaft and camshaft seals. Done with proper torque specs and sequence so the repair holds.

Misfires and rough running

Coils, plugs, injectors, vacuum and intake leaks, carbon buildup on direct-injection intake valves (common on Audi and BMW), and timing-related misfires. We find which cylinder and why.

Turbo and check-engine causes

Boost leaks, wastegate and actuator faults, failing turbos, and the stored codes behind a check-engine light. We read live data and test components instead of throwing parts at it.

Signs it's time to come in

  • Oil spots or a burning-oil smell after parking
  • Coolant loss, overheating, or a sweet smell from the engine
  • Check-engine light, flashing light, or rough idle
  • Rattle or chain noise at cold startup
  • Loss of power, hesitation, or a whistle under acceleration
Dealer-level capability. Local-shop honesty.

European engines don't tolerate generic repair. The torque sequences, the special tools, the plastic cooling parts that look fine and aren't, the carbon that builds on direct-injection valves: a general shop often misses these or learns on your car. We've seen the same engines and the same failures for three decades, so we know where to look first and how to fix it so it stays fixed. The nearest comparable European specialist is more than 100 miles away.

How it works

Call and describe it

Reach us at (318) 445-6007 and tell us the symptom, the model, and what you're hearing or seeing. We'll let you know what to expect and get you in. No forms, no portal, just a real conversation.

We diagnose the real cause

We inspect, pull codes, read live data, and confirm the source before quoting. You get a clear explanation and an honest price, not a parts-cannon.

We repair it right

Correct parts, correct procedures, and a car that runs the way it should. We tell you what's urgent and what can wait.

Common questions

Do you work on my specific make and model?

Almost certainly. We service BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, Land Rover, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Maserati, MINI, and classic air-cooled VWs and British roadsters. Call with your year and model and we'll confirm.

Can you do engine work for less than the dealership?

Yes. We have dealer-level capability without dealer overhead, so you get the right diagnosis and repair at local-shop pricing. We'll quote your specific job straight before any work starts.

My check-engine light is on but the car drives fine. Should I bring it in?

Worth a call. Some codes are minor, but a misfire, a small coolant leak, or a timing fault can quietly cause expensive damage. We'll read it and tell you whether it's urgent or can wait.
